A 4th of July Family Get Away
-Written And Photographed By Coleen Lou

This weekend my family went to the Renaissance PineIsle Resort for the night on the 4th of July. If you have never been there, it is a fabulous hotel. We had a lovely jacuzzi suite and the kids really enjoyed that. In addition, the resort has incredible family-oriented amenities, such as an indoor and outdoor pool, outdoor jacuzzi, beach, water sports, boat rides, great restaurants and room service, organized activities for the kids and giant inflatable water trampolines set-up on the lake in the beach area.

When we got there and checked into the room, the kids immediately hopped into the jacuzzi. Then we had a hearty, grilled burger lunch at the Breezes restaurant. Next, we went to the beach area, where my youngest daughter, Tiana had a blast in the beach area kayaking and playing on the inflatable trampoline area. My husband and oldest daughter had some other things to do….

Then my husband, John and I took a scenic pontoon boat ride around the lake. While it was very beautiful, I must admit it was kind of crazy out there on the water on a holiday weekend. There were some jet skiers and boaters out there that were really acting pretty reckless.

Later in the evening, we watched the 4th of July fireworks. I captured some of the powerful bursts of luminous beauty with my digital SLR. Check them out. There is the standard fireworks photo and some interesting and wild ones too!…..

Pretty ehh?

Pretty Wild?  There is more....

Later I met a couple, Boyd Hanson and Shanna Ramsey, who were dancing the night away to the tunes being played by a live band at the resort. They came with several other people and were obviously having a lot of fun. Boyd, owner of the Young Life Academy in Roswell, has a boat named HOW U DOIN. They all went to cocktail cove, watched the fireworks and then came to the resort to dance and have a good time. He said, “We do this every year, because you get it all… the sun, water and resort. It is a mini vacation….a trip away from home.”

Boyd is right…I couldn’t have said it better myself. If you are looking for a family get away, that is affordable and close to home, then the Renaissance Pine Isle Resort may be just the place for you and your family.
